Old Men Ice Fishing Trip

Took some old timers out ice fishing today. Here is a video of our ice fishing adventure with Larry Dozard of Larry's Fishing Hole and Pastor Bill Brown of Lexington Community Church. Make sure to watch Bill hook into the biggest one of the day at 6:46!

We caught well over 50 bluegill between 7-9 inches and also 9 largemouth bass between 14-16 inches. The fish were spread out and all throughout the water column. We were getting most of the active bluegill 8 feet down, but we caught them from the bottom all the way up to within 2 feed of the hole. The weather was mostly sunny, warming up, but the wind was blowing pretty strong 15 mph. Fish were actively moving in schools, but you had to work to get them to bite! Keeping your jig freshly baited was pretty key to getting strikes today.

We kept and cleaned about 30 bluegill and all of the bass right out on the ice with our portable cleaning table. We finished fishing just about lunch time and headed to a local restaurant for lunch! A guy could get used to days like today was....Just a lot of fun outside with some "old" friends!
